I love to think outside the box to provide you with the most cost-effective solution, which may mean you walk away with a completely different solution to what you first thought you needed!

Ewa has been a part of the Truly Team now for almost 2 years. We caught up with her to ask her about her experience so far.

1.When did you join Truly Independent?
I first joined Truly in August 2020 (in the middle of the global pandemic!) as a self-employed mortgage paraplanner helping Ian Watters with his mortgage cases with the view of becoming a mortgage adviser in the near future. I was then made a mortgage and protection adviser in August 2021.

2.What was your main reason for joining?
Having spoke to Ian about Truly, I really liked the sound of the culture within the company and the trust that is given to each individual. The management are also great and very down to earth.

3.What stopped you from making the move earlier and what finally made you decide to join?
I always considered becoming self-employed but was never brave enough to take the step but having spoke to Truly this was the next obvious step for me and I haven’t looked back since!

4. How have you found it since moving?
It’s been great! The whole team are extremely supportive.

5.What are the benefits you have enjoyed?
Being my own boss yet still being a part of a team – best of both worlds! The affinity events are also a great way to connect with other advisers.

6.What would you do differently?
I would’ve joined earlier!

7.What would your advice be to other IFAs?
There’s never going to be a ‘right’ time so just go for it! You only have one life so make the most of it.

8.Do you feel valued for your contributions?
Absolutely!

9.Do you believe that there is an opportunity for individual career growth and development within the company?
Yes definitely! Here, you are the master of your own destiny.

10.Are you satisfied with your job overall?
Yes I am.

11.Do you feel you are rewarded for your dedication and commitment towards your work?
Yes.

12.Do you feel there is a scope for personal growth such as skill enhancement?
Absolutely, I’m already planning my next exams!

13.Do you think your job makes a positive difference in other peoples lives?
Yes this is the biggest reason I do what I do. Helping people not only buy their own house but help them navigate the world of mortgages is something I’m extremely passionate about.

14.Do you think the environment at work helps you strike the right balance between your work life and personal life?
Working from home can often make that a little difficult but ultimately I decide when to work and when to rest so that’s a 100% on me! Some would call me a bit of a workaholic.
